Number 1 Care was created from the heart.
As a brother and sister team, we have spent many years working in the disability sector. Through both professional experience and personal understanding, we have witnessed the strength, resilience, and potential within every individual and family we support.
Over time, one belief became very clear to us – support should feel personal. It should feel respectful. And most importantly, it should feel genuine.
The name Number 1 Care was chosen with intention. To us, it represents how every person should feel when receiving support. You are not just another participant. You are not just a schedule or a service.
You are valued. You matter. You are number one.
Being number one means being heard. It means being supported without judgement. It means having a team beside you that truly cares about your goals, your independence, and your wellbeing.
We created Number 1 Care to build something different – a service where relationships come first, where people feel safe and respected, and where individuals are empowered to live life on their own terms.
For us, this is more than a business. It is our way of giving back and contributing to a stronger, more inclusive community.

Our Story
Navdeep began her journey in Australia in 2007 with a strong desire to make a meaningful difference. While studying Community Welfare Work, she discovered her passion for supporting individuals and families during her placements in the disability sector.
With a background in community services and years of hands-on experience in disability support, the team developed not only professional expertise, but a deep understanding of the real challenges individuals and families face every day.
Throughout their experience, they worked closely with people transitioning from institutional environments where choice and independence were limited. Many individuals carried lasting emotional impacts from these experiences, which reinforced one powerful belief:
Every person deserves dignity, respect, and the freedom to make their own choices.
Having experienced the journey of starting fresh in a new country, Nav understands resilience, hard work, and the importance of strong support systems.
Number 1 Care was founded to create something different – a service where care feels personal, communication is clear, and every individual is supported without judgement.

As a family-led NDIS provider, our journey began through lived experience and years of hands-on work in the disability sector. Supporting people both at home and in the community showed us where systems worked and where they often fell short.
Too often, participants and families were treated as numbers, with limited choice, inconsistent communication, and little personal understanding.
Number 1 Care was created to change that.
From a small, values-driven beginning to a growing and trusted service, our focus remains the same: to build meaningful relationships and provide support that helps people live with confidence, dignity, and independence.
